Skydance Interactive in association with Skybound Entertainment have unveiled some of the curtain on “The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners” VR game. The game was first announced last year during Comic-Con and now we have some brand new footage to share.
The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners starts you three years after the outbreak. You will take your journey through New Orleans which is now flooded with herds of walkers (zombies). This makes escaping the city near impossible.
The city is divided into districts accessible only by skiff and controlled by a community known as ‘The Tower’. With dwindling supplies, the Tower’s grip on the city is threatened when a brutal group called the Reclaimed rises against them. Anyone not in a faction must fend for themselves…few survive. Rumors suggest that a Cold War era bunker exists, loaded with years’ worth of food, medical supplies, and weapons.
The game is set to last around 15 hours in a single-player campaign mode where you make choices that determine the outcome of the game. This is survival horror at your own pace, with both normal difficulty and permadeath. Surrounded by warring factions, it’s up to you whether to pick a side, summon your stealth to try and avoid the conflict, or play people against each other while you look out for yourself.
“We made this game in VR because we wanted to allow players to truly live in the world of The Walking Dead,” says Skydance Vice President of Global Interactive Marketing Guy Costantini. “As fans of the franchise, we crave a deep, rich gameplay experience, so we made one and can’t wait to share it with our fellow Walking Dead fans and VR game players.”
The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners is set to launch January 23, 2020. As seen in the new trailer, the graphics look great and seems to have a fleshed out story that will provide us with more than just a regular “zombie killing” game.
